By Train: You can reach the Palace of Versailles from three train stations: Versailles Château – Rive Gauche (RER), Versailles Chantiers (SNCF), and Versailles Rive Droite (SNCF).
By Bus: Hop on Bus Line 171, which operates from Pont de Sèvres to Place d’Armes Versailles. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes.
By Car: The quickest route from Paris to Versailles is via the N118 road. A taxi ride typically costs between €35 and €60, depending on the time of day.
The main entrance to the Palace of Versailles is through the Court of Honor. Once inside the courtyard, you will find three doorways leading into the castle:
- Entrance A (top left of the courtyard): For visitors with pre-purchased tickets.
- Entrance B (top right of the courtyard): For reserved groups.
- Entrance H: Reserved for guests with impairments.
Facilities: Palace of Versailles is well-equipped with all the essential amenities, such as cloakrooms, water supply points, restrooms, baby changing table facilities, an audio guide, free wifi, and mobile charging points.
Luggage Storage: You can securely store your luggage at the free automatic deposit in the North Ministers’ Wing. Your bags must not exceed 46 x 43 x 26 cm.
Restrooms: They are available throughout the palace. Even without a ticket, you can use the restroom (including changing tables for babies) in the South Ministers’ Wing, located to the left in the Court of Honour.The North Ministers’ Wing, South Ministers’ Wing, and Dufour Pavilion have free mobile charging stations.
