Golf cart renting in palace of Versailles

The Versailles Palace spans around 2000 acres, and everyone can’t roam around it on foot. 

Hence, the Palace provides several options to tour the Palace: 

  • Renting a Golf Cart, mini bike, or Segway 
  • Taking a Little Train Ride 
  • Rowing a boat (At Grand Canal, The Park) 

With these facilities available, you can explore the vast Versailles Gardens and Park area as much as you want! 

Rent a Golf Cart/Electric Car

You can rent a golf cart/electric vehicle every day from 10 am to 5 pm, with the last ticket available one hour before closing.

Rental points are situated on the South Terrace adjacent to the Palace and between the Park and Gardens near the bicycle rental station in Little Venice.

The minimum hire period is 60 minutes, costing €42 per person. After 60 minutes, each additional 15 minutes is charged at €10. 

You can make the payment by credit card or cash.

You can rent a golf cart at Versailles, which accommodates four adults or five people if children are included. The driver must be at least 24 years old and show a valid driving license as the driver.

Six golf carts are specially equipped for people with disabilities, and they will receive a 40% discount off the regular price.

The golf cart rental hours open at 10 am. 

From April to October, it closes at 6.45 pm, with the last departure at 5.45 pm. 

From March to November, the closing hour is 5 pm, with the last departure at 4 pm.

In February and March, golf cart rental services are available till 5.30 pm, with the last departure at 4.30 pm. 

Please note there is early closure on Fountain show days, and the rental service is closed in January at Little Venice.

Each golf cart has a geolocation system, and you’ll have access to an audio guide in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese.

Bicycles and Tandem Rental 

If you want a more personalized experience and love a little adventure, hire bicycles or tandem to visit the Park. 

The hire points are next to the Petite Venise, and on weekends and public holidays, there are additional bike hire points at the Saint Anthony Gate and the Queen’s Gate.

It is available from 10 am, and the closing time depends on the season. 

The closing time is 5.30 pm from mid-February to the end of March, 6.45 pm from April to October, and 5 pm from early to mid-November. 

The last ticket is available 30 minutes before closing time. 

Note: Bikes are not allowed in Versailles Gardens, but you can ride across the Park.

Electric Bike and Tandem

Segway Tour

Opt for the Versailles Guided Segway Tour if you want to stroll through Versailles on a Segway. 

With this ticket, you will receive a Segway training session and a tour of the main Palace Building, Grand Canal, Grand Trianon, and Petit Trianon. It costs €59.

Take a Little Train 

The Little Train departs from the Château, stops at the Grand Canal, the Grand Trianon, and finally, the Petit Trianon before returning to the Château.

Open every day except Mondays, the train schedule is as follows: 

  • January to March – 11.10 am to 5.10 pm
  • April to June – 11.10 am to 6.10 pm
  • July to August – 10:40 am to 6.10 pm
  • September to October – 11.10 am to 6.10 pm
  • November to December: 11.10 am to 5.10 pm

Depending on the season, the little train runs every 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes. 

The entire circuit (Little Train trip) takes around 50 minutes.

The train is accessible to people with reduced mobility with the driver’s assistance and can accommodate one or two wheelchairs.

You can book tickets for little trains at the ticketing office in Versailles.

A one-way trip (a single circuit, as they call it) allows you to get on and off at different stops. 

Please note that people with a return ticket have priority over those waiting to purchase a return ticket.

Rowing Boats 

Take a pleasant boat trip along the Grand Canal and witness the natural beauty of Versailles Park

You can hire the boat from Monday to Friday, from 1 pm to 5.30 pm in March, from 11 am to 6.45 pm from April to June. 

It opens from 10 am to 6.45 pm from July to August, from 1 pm to 6.45 pm from September to October, and from 1 pm to 5 pm from early to mid-November.

On weekends and public holidays, the hours are 11 am to 5.30 pm in March and 10.30 am to 6.45 pm from April to June.

It opens from 10 am to 6.45 pm from July to August, 10.30 am to 6.45 pm from September to October, and 11 am to 5 pm from early to mid-November.

Renting a boat is closed annually from mid-November to the end of February.
